Oman Air’s Embraers

Oman Air has bought five Embraer 175 ‘E-jets’.

November 17: Middle Eastern airline Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, has bought five Embraer 175 ‘E-jets’ in a $177.5 million (€118.7 million) deal with the manufacturer. The contract also enables another five aircraft to be purchased at short notice.

Four of the jets will be operated by the airline and one will serve with the Royal Omani Police. The first delivery is scheduled for early 2011. “We are pleased to have Oman Air as the first customer of our E-Jets family in the Gulf area,” said Frederico Fleury Curado, Embraer President and Chief Executive Officer.

Oman Air’s aircraft will be configured with 72 seats in a dual-class layout, with 12 seats in Business Class and 60 in Economy.
