Wings Air increases ATR order

Wings Air has signed a $600 million order for 15 ATR 72-500 aircraft.

November 16: Indonesian carrier Wings Air has signed a $600 million (€401 million) order for 15 ATR 72-500 aircraft with options on a further 15 ATR 72-600s. The airline originally signed a Memorandum of Understanding for ten examples, plus ten options in November 2008.

Wings Air will be the launch customer for the ATR 72-500 in Indonesia when the aircraft are delivered, starting almost immediately through to 2011. The aircraft will replace the MD 80 and Boeing 737-300/400 and supplement routes using the Boeing 737-900ER.
