The biennial International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) is taking place in Abu Dhabi from February 19-23. AirForces Monthly’s correspondent is reporting from the event.
Among the more interesting aircraft present in the static display at IDEX is this Joint Aviation Command/United Arab Emirates Navy AS565SB Panther, serial 191 (formerly F-ZKBP).
Configured for naval warfare, this helicopter is armed with four dummy AS15TT anti-shipping missiles. Another example (serial 197) also participated in a mock anti-terror operation that was part of the show’s opening ceremony. The display included impressive performances by most of the Joint Aviation Command helicopters.
