TAP Upgrades

Lisbon-based TAP Portugal has contracted Airbus to complete comprehensive cabin upgrades across its A330 and A320 Family fleets. The deal, signed at the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg earlier this month, includes retrofitting new Business Class seats and an updated In-flight Entertainment System into seven widebody jets, and installing new seating throughout the 41-strong narrowbody fleet.

“These significant cabin upgrade programmes for our A320ceo and A330ceo Family fleets reinforce our commitment to invest in enhancing the aircraft and the product we offer to our passengers,” TAP’s Chief Commercial Officer Trey Urbahn said. “We are confident that Airbus will deliver the right upgrade solutions with the highest quality to ensure that these aircraft continue to be the most suitable for our business as well as pleasing to fly in.”

The cabin renewal programme, which will be undertaken by Airbus Upgrade Services, is planned to start in the third quarter of this year for the A320 Family, and in early 2017 for the A330s. All work is due for completion by the end of next year.
