Russian crash kills eleven

An Il-76 ‘Candid’ transport aircraft belonging to the Russian Ministry of Interior has crashed.

November 1: News agency Reuters reports that an Il-76 ‘Candid’ transport aircraft belonging to the Russian Ministry of Interior crashed shortly after take-off from Mirnyy Airport, killing all eleven people on board.

It is the fifth Il-76 to be involved in a fatal incident this year. News reports indicate that the aircraft had only reached a height of 30 metres before it banked to the right and crashed about 1.5 km from the runway. It is believed that RF-76801 was the airframe involved.
