Rolls-Royce has won an additional Turkish Airlines order for Trent 700 engines.
November 2: UK aerospace company Rolls-Royce has won an additional $350m order for Trent 700 engines to power five new Airbus A330 aircraft for Turkish Airlines (Turk Hava Yollari). This follows its July announcement that the engine will power seven Turkish A330s in a contract valued at $470m.
Aircraft deliveries will start in 2010. The Trent 700 is the only engine specifically designed for the A330 – the Turkish examples will feature an enhanced performance version of the Trent 700 that improves engine performance by 1.3%.
