Aeroflot has announced that it will be a sponsor of the 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
August 19: Russian airline Aeroflot has announced that it will be a sponsor of the 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi, a Black Sea resort in Krasnodar Krai.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Aeroflot Director General, Vitaly Savelyev, and Sochi 2014 President and CEO, Dmitry Chernyshenko, at the MAKS airshow underway outside Moscow.
Aeroflot’s responsibilities will include providing transport for official Russian delegations from February 2010 until 2016, as well as the Olympic and Paralympic teams for the 2014 event. Its first official action will be to take Russian representatives to the 2010 games in Vancouver, Canada.
