The Cessna Aircraft Company has delivered its 5,000th Citation light business jet. The aircraft, a Citation M2, G-OREZ (c/n 525-0928), was handed over to Helitrip Charter which is in turn leasing the aircraft to Catreus, an established charter operator based at Biggin Hill in the UK.
Kriya Shortt, Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing, said: “We are thrilled Catreus will be operating another M2, as the variant’s excellent combination of range and efficiency will be a great addition to their fleet and to help meet their growing customer base. The 5,000th Citation light jet delivery reiterates that our company remains the indisputable leader with decades of proven performance, reliability and versatility.”
Catreus currently manages and operates a mixed fleet that includes six Cessna Citation variants, the Mustang, M2, Bravo, Excel, XLS and the XLS+. The company’s combined fleet operates approximately 3,000 charter hours per year.
Cessna entered the light jet segment in 1972 when it delivered its first Citation I. The portfolio of aircraft has grown steadily over the last 44 years and today, the company says it offers customers the broadest range of products on the market. From the popular entry level Citation Mustang through to its top performing CJ4, the Citation family has evolved to offer a range of capabilities, systems and options, that Cessna claims, is unmatched in its class. Citations are the largest fleet of business jets in the world and have surpassed 31 million flying hours.
