E-Jet Makes TAP Debut

TAP Express is the first Portuguese operator of the Embraer E-Jet after introducing the type into revenue service.  The Brazilian-built E190-100LR, CS-TPW (c/n 19000550), flew its maiden rotation from Lisbon to Nice on May 24.  It is the first of nine examples due to join the airline – the new regional offshoot of flag carrier TAP Portugal – from sister Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras.

“We are extremely pleased to add TAP Express to the growing family of E-Jet operators,” Paulo Cesar Silva, President & CEO, Embraer Commercial Aviation said.  “With the best operating cost in the category of jets with up to 100 seats, the E190 will bring more efficiency and flexibility to TAP Express operations, and provide unmatched passenger comfort.”
