Polish Milestone

LOT Polish Airlines carried more than one million passengers during the first quarter of the year, the first time it has surpassed the landmark figure.  The Warsaw-based flag carrier recorded year-on-year growth of 19%, which it attributed to the almost 20 new routes it has launched since January.

“Creating so many new routes in such a short period of time has already brought the first positive results,” LOT’s Corporate Communications Director Adrian Kubicki said.  “But it is not only about the number of routes. In Warsaw, we are creating the most convenient transit airport in Europe.  We see to it that our routes are well connected and ensure the shortest connecting time possible.”

LOT’s extensive network overhaul, which included new services to Tokyo along with more than a dozen destinations in Europe, is part of a wider-reaching restructuring programme intended to restore profitability.
