Russia launches heavy bomber strikes in Syria
A series of images and videos of airstrikes by Russian strategic bombers has been released.
The images depict Tu-22M3 ‘Backfire’, Tu-95 ‘Bear’ and Tu-160 ‘Blackjack’ strategic bombers employing Air Launched Cruise Missiles (ALCMs) on targets in Syria.
This marks the combat debut of the Tu-160. Reports suggest that 25 bombers dropped 34 ALCMs from 14 Tu-22s, six Tu-95s and five Tu-160s that were involved.
