Marine Corps prepares for F-35B operational test at sea

The US Marine Corps is gearing up for a period of operational test (OT) sea trials aboard the USS Wasp in late May. Six F-35Bs will embark the carrier for the only formal operational testing ahead of declaring Initial Operating Capability (IOC) with the F-35B in July.

The six aircraft from VMFA-121 and VMFAT-501 will embark and fly using their current 2B software. The F-35Bs have previously completed two periods of development testing abroad the USS Wasp.
