The Royal Canadian Air Force(RCAF) has taken delivery of its fifth CH-147F Chinook one month ahead of schedule.
Boeing is scheduled to deliver two more CH-147Fs this year and another eight by June 2014 to provide Canada with its full complement of 15 rotorcraft. The deal also includes in-service support for the CH-147F fleet for the next 20 years under a Performance-Based Logistics contract.
The CH-147F has a modernised airframe with long-range fuel tanks, allowing it to fly twice as far as standard range models.
