Thailand to Purchase UH-72A Lakotas

The Royal Thai Army is in the process of purchasing 6 UH-72A Lakota Helicopters including associated equipment, parts and logistical support for an estimated value of US$ 77 million

The deal will include spare and repair parts, support equipment, communication equipment, publications and technical documentation, Aviation Mission Planning Station, personnel training and training equipment, U.S. Government and contractor technical and logistics support services, and other related elements of logistics support. The estimated cost is $77 million.

The proposed sale will contribute to Thailand’s goal to upgrade and modernise its fleet with a light utility helicopter capable of meeting requirements for rotary wing transportation.

The US$77 million purchase price is nearly 7.5 Million more than the US paid for the helicopters.
