Finnair’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Jukka Hienonen, has resigned.
August 7: Finnair’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Jukka Hienonen, resigned after another set of poor financial results saw the airline post a fourth consecutive quarter-loss, this time at €26.1 million.
“A clear change of course is required,” he said. “I am not satisfied with the results achieved; the rate of change has been insufficient. Some personnel organisations have shown no willingness to adapt. It will require a lot of work and also a completely different way of thinking in terms of working conditions.”
Hienonen will continue as President and CEO for the next six months, his official notice period.
