Irish carrier CityJet is the first European operator of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) after taking delivery of its maiden example. The 98-seat aircraft, EI-FWA (c/n 95102), was handed over by SuperJet International in Venice on May 24 and is one of 15 ordered by the Dublin-based airline. It also retains purchase options on a further 16 airframes.
Pat Byrne, Executive Chairman of CityJet said: “The delivery of our first SSJ100 is an important milestone for CityJet as we begin our fleet renewal programme. This is a fantastic aircraft and we look forward to introducing our customers to its high levels of comfort and efficiency in the coming years”.
The carrier expects to receive three further Superjets this year, with the remaining 11 following in 2017.
