Boeing kicked off the 2016 Farnborough International Airshow with a deal with Xiamen Airlines for up to 30 737 MAX 200s.
The memorandum of understanding (MOU) is valued a $3.39bn at current list prices. Xiamen Airlines, which is a stated-owned subsidiary of China Southern Airlines, is already a 737 MAX customer and has identified the jet, which can accommodate up to 200 passengers, for its low-cost subsidiaries, Jiangxi Airlines and Hebei Airlines.
The deal is subject to approval from the board of Xiamen Airlines, China Southern Airline Group and the Chinese Government.
