April 6, Bandung, Indonesia: An air force spokesman says 24 people are feared dead after a military aircraft, thought to be an F-27, crashed into an airport hangar.
Six crew, an instructor and 17 Special Forces’ trainees were on board the aircraft, which went down in a ‘fireball’ during stormy weather at Bandung Airport. The Air Force currently operates five Fokker-built F-27-400s as troopships with two squadrons normally based at Lanuma Halim-Perdanakusuma, Jakarta, Java.
