The 2016 edition of North America’s largest flight simulation and aviation conference will be held on June 11 to 12 at the New England Air Museum, Bradley International Airport, Hartford, Connecticut).
FlightSimCon is an annual flight simulation and aviation conference for pilots and aviation enthusiasts. For existing flight simulation enthusiasts, the conference is a chance to interact with vendors, attend seminars on improving simulator performance and speak with flight simulation personalities. FlightSimCon also introduces pilots to the world of flight simulation with interactive how-to seminars on setting up a first flight simulator.
Last year’s event welcomed more than 320 attendees from across the US and around the world, as well as 19 exhibitors, 31 sponsors, and 16 speakers.
This year, the conference is poised to expand again, and we’re hoping to top 500 attendees. There are already more than 15 confirmed exhibitors, which include Orbx Simulation Systems, Bower Flight Decks, FltPlan.Com, Boston Virtual ARTCC, VATSIM, FSFX Packages, Quality Wings, IVAO, Jetline Systems, EasternHops.Com, VolairSim, Javiator, FlyInside, Dovetail Games, and HiFi Simulation Technologies. Attendance is expected from sponsor Flightbeam Studios, and our media partners: FlightSim.Com, AirDailyX, LiveATC.net, and PC Pilot.
The event features back-to-back seminars, presentations, and panel discussions from some of the biggest names in the flight simulation world as well as ‘sim pit’ builders, flight dispatchers, a tactical helicopter pilot and accident investigator, developers from Orbx, the creator of X-Plane, and several flight simulation add-on and platform developers.
There are two panel discussions lined up for the event. On Saturday, a panel of real-world aviators will explore the benefits of connecting by flying online. The seminar is a must-see for pilots who have never tried online simulation networks like VATSIM. Then, on Sunday afternoon, flight simulation developers from across the exhibitor line up, including from Orbx Simulation Systems and Dovetail Games, will get together to talk about the future of flight simulation based on questions submitted from the audience.
During the event, attendees will have the chance to explore exhibitor demonstrations and try out different simulators, including a full-size Cessna 172 ‘sim-pit’ from Tom Gauvin (also speaking at the event). VATSIM’s Boston Virtual ARTCC will be showcasing a live demonstration of online flying and air traffic control with an impressive setup of more than 30 online pilots and air traffic controllers flying together on the VATSIM network.
Prizes will be available during the event including a round-trip flight on regional airline Cape Air, 3 TrackIR 5 Pro Bundles, DVDs from JustPlanes, and free online game codes from Big Fat Simulations.
