June 15: The first significant order from a wet and soggy Paris Air Show came from Qatar Airways, which has signed a firm contract for 24 Airbus A320 Family aircraft.
The new aircraft will be configured with a two-class cabin and deployed on regional, Eastern European and South West Asia services. Qatar Airways currently operates 19 A320s. Today’s announcement also confirmed the signing of the contract for four A321 aircraft previously announced at last year’s Farnborough International Air Show.
